Brahma Kumaris at “Biological and Spiritual Agriculture Conference” with Shri Ravi Shankar, Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh

The Founder of Art of Living Sri Sri Ravishankar, ,Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan , Chief Minister of Chhattisgarh Dr. Raman Singh and Minister for Farmers Welfare and Agriculture Development Shri Gourishankar Bisen, Chairperson of Brahma Kumaris Agriculture and Rural Development Wing BK Sarla, Vice-Chairman of Agriculture and Rural Development Wing BK Raju etc. were seated on the dias for the Inauguration of “Biological and Spiritual Agriculture Conference” held at Balaghat, Madhya Pradesh.

Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan said that the soil of agriculture land and water of rivers besides ponds are getting polluted by optimum use of chemical pesticides and fertilizers. We have to encourage organic farming further to stop this. Madhya Pradesh will be made a leading state of the country in organic farming. Farmers will be encouraged to undertake organic farming in the state and concrete marketing arrangements will be made for the marketing of organic produces.

The Founder of Art of Living, Sri Sri Ravishankar stated that India is a country of Rishis and Krishi. Rishi imparts knowledge and agriculture gives food. People do not like to undertake farming now a days. Our agriculture will lag behind. We have to admire and give respect to the farmers besides adopting organic farming. The country will lag behind in the development if we don’t hold high regard towards the farmers

BK Sarla, Chairperson, Agriculture and Rural Development Wing addressed the gathering sharing the importance of meditative practices combined with the methods of organic agriculture which is bringing clear economic and social benefits to small holders agrarian community.

BK Raju, Vice-Chairman of Agriculture and Rural Development Wing explained the relevance of spirituality in agriculture and how Rajyoga Meditation works for influencing elements of nature and successfully practicing sustainable yogic agriculture.

More than one lakh farmers took benefit from the program and various stalls were set up in this Organic Expo 2018 at Balaghat.
