Brahma Kumaris in USA Honored by New York State Senator

Dr. Lee McGunnigle, Mayor of Tannersville in New York, presented a proclamation to BK Sister Jayanti, Director of the Brahma Kumaris in Europe and the Middle East and BK Sister Mohini, Regional Director of the Brahma Kumaris in the USA and the Caribbean, on the occasion of the Brahma Kumaris 40th Anniversary of Spiritual Service in the USA, during the public program held at Peace Village Learning and Retreat Center in upstate New York. The proclamation was sent by Senator James Tedesco, New York  State Senator, representing the 49th District (Peace Village area) honoring BK Sister Mohini, BK Sister Jayanti and Peace Village.

A proclamation was also sent by Senator George A. Amedore, Jr., New York State Senator, representing the 46th District, which consists of all of Montgomery and Greene Counties (Peace Village), and portions of Schenectady, Albany, and Ulster Counties.

“Fusion of Silence and Sound,” a reflective concert, was part of the public program where BK Sister Jayanti spoke and conducted a soothing meditation commentary, and meditators and local artists performed inspirational song and dance.

BK Gurinder Garcha; Ed Ullman, Pharmacist from the Wellness Center; and Mayor Dr. Lee McGunnigle from Tannersville, New York, extended congratulations to BK Sister Kala, Director of Peace Village Retreat Center, on this occasion.  In celebrating 40 years plus service in the USA, the Brahma Kumaris World Spiritual Organisation has opened more than 40 meditation centers and three retreat centers across the nation, through which it has taught Rajayoga, a practical method of meditation that has helped thousands of individuals from all faith backgrounds understand their inner strengths and universal truth.
