Malaysia: The Brahma Kumaris of Malaysia successfully organized a musical visual reality show entitled “Celebrating Unity in Diversity with Light and Sound” at Johor Bahru, Kuala Lumpur and Penang, with the aim of promoting Unity among Malaysians through art and music. Around 360 to 540 people attended the shows as per the hall capacity at each location.

The program started with a Welcome Address by BK Jothirajah, BK Letchu and BK Helen at the respective locations. This was followed by special notes from the Minister’s/ Chief Minister’s office. The Guests of Honor were felicitated. Then, the performers of the night, the musical group Desert Rose from South Africa, represented by Lynne Holmes and Yusuf Ganief, and the Virtual reality artist from Bengaluru, Vinay Hegde, were introduced.

The vocalists performed their rendition of spiritual songs, which were a fusion representing multi-racial, multi-religious numbers in various languages. The Medley between Desert Rose and Vinay mesmerized the audience and transported them into another world – the world of love and unanimity.

The theme of the event, “Celebrating Unity in Diversity with Light and Sound,” was well represented by Desert Rose’s serene verses and Vinay’s digital artistry, as the crowd was awe-struck and appreciated with resounding applauses. Quite a number of high-ranking officials, media personnel and religious heads attended the programs and each sector was well represented by the audience. The event was also covered by media; Bernama TV interviewed the artists and senior Rajayogis of the Brahma Kumaris.  The guests thanked the Brahma Kumaris for bringing world-class performers to Malaysia with the eternal message of unity in diversity as the world and mankind are indeed diverse.  It is only unity derived from God that can bind Malaysians together. It was evident that such a show was timely, as it geared Malaysians towards peace and harmony, thereby heralding unity amidst diversity in the country.
