The festival of Janmashtami, Sri Krishna’s Birthday, was celebrated at Sarnath, Varanasi, with pomp and pleasure by the members of the Brahma Kumaris  in the auditorium of their Centre, Global Light House.

On this occasion many cultural items were arranged. It was celebrated by displaying many heart-touching events of Sri Krishna’s life by lively and lovely performances of artists in the auditorium. They posed as Radha-Krishna and a scene of the Abode of Shankar-Parvati, Mount Kailash, was set up looking quite natural. With that background, pretty little children performed a welcoming dance very lovingly. People with devoted heart and from several social working organisations along with members of the Brahma Kumaris organisation enjoyed the show.

The function was inaugurated by the customery lighting of lamps by the Chief Guest IPS Officer and S.P. Protocol Mr. Vikas Kumar Vaidya; Rajyogini BK Surendra, Zonal in Charge; BK Dipendra, Manager; BK Bipin; Rajyogini BK Ranjana, Director of Azamgarh Area; and Sister BK Taposhi.

Rajyogini BK Surendra explained the spiritual meaning of Janmashtami and said, “Today men have become the prisoners of their Vices and Evil traits when God, the Supreme Soul has descended on earth to liberate men from this prison. This is His Super Natural Divine Act.”

Mr. Vikas Kumar Vaidya, IPS, said, “If we observe Sri Krishna’s life, we get inspired and learn to tackle problems and any odd situations tactfully and progress in life with the help of divine conscience and Self-confidence.”

BK Dipendra welcomed everyone to come forward and show a new way to society by our divine qualities like Sri Krishna.

BK Bipin emphasized the necessity of transforming this earth into the Gokul Village of the yore by our Super Acts.

In the auditorium, events from Sri Krishna’s life were displayed live by the artists. Some of them — Sri Krishna swinging joyfully in a swing as a Child with Radha, and a Shiva Ling shown on the Himalaya — were the centre of attraction for devotional visitors. Innocent children performing a Dance and Raasleela with Sri Krishna were highly enjoyed by the spectators who were present on the occasion.

Rajyogini BK Surendra offered Bhog (Food) to God, the Supreme Soul, and delivered his best wishes to all those devoted public on the Eve of Holy Sri Krishna Janmashtami.

BK Taposhi conducted the program very efficiently and made the whole program so pleasant.

Many worked tirelessly to see that the events were so spectacular, including BK Rekha, Sarita, Prabha, Poonam, Reema, Poornima, Priyanka who extended their sweet greetings to the gathering. Along with them BK Raj Kumar, Ashok, Satya Narayan, Virendra, Dr. Dinesh, Dr. Yogeshwar Singh, Rameshwar Choudhari, Ajay, Munna, Rajesh and many others were present.
