Peace Village Learning and Retreat Center, located in the Catskill Mountains in New York, USA, hosted an International Brahma Kumaris IT (Information Technology) Conference and Retreat.  Participants joined from the United Kingdom, Brazil, Argentina, Colombia, Canada, India and from numerous centers in the United States.

The theme of the retreat was “Soul Connections: Make it Secure,” and sessions were addressed in Connection to Body (Self), God and Service.

Sister Mohini, Regional Director of the Brahma Kumaris in the Americas, participated remotely through the wonder of technology and shared how to integrate spiritual knowledge and meditation while doing an IT job. “If we have good concentration, we can achieve more in less time.  In the morning, write how many tasks you have to do, but don’t carry them  in your head.  Stress, anxiety, is caused by remembering tasks all the time. The task has to be done, but the remembrance of God has to be integrated whilst thinking, speaking and doing, which brings clarity, and you will find solutions, and you will achieve even more. Remembrance means to have in your awareness that “I am in God’s service,” to not be overwhelmed with so many tasks to be done. Internally, there has to be elevated feelings, and contentment when tasks get done. Your thought has so much power.  Keep a balance in life so the we are happy, healthy, and wealthy. Physical diet has to be balanced as well. Never allow your mind to be confused; take guidance from God and move forward. Do not be a victim of your own emotions. There are different scenes in life, some of which are very challenging, but stay unshakeable and immovable.  Our relationships with others need to be in the awareness that we are all eternal, original souls. Keep reminding yourselves of the original eternal stage. Do not be task-oriented, do not be working with the head, but pay attention to the spiritual journey, maintain connection with God and have a friendly, lovely relationship with one another.”

Walks in nature, a creative treasure hunt, meditation on the Peace Village “Baba’s Rock,” and an early morning 4 am meditation with a roaring bonfire under the rising quarter moon and the celestial “Big Dipper” were part of the retreat.
