“Swachhata Hi Seva” Services by Brahma Kumaris in Ludhiana, Punjab

Under the guidance of Ludhiana Center In charge BK Raj, a program of Sanitation Service was organized by the Brahma Kumaris of Ludhiana from September 15th to October 2nd, 2018. Under the leadership of the Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi, on the occasion of the birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi and the fourth anniversary of Swachh Bharat Mission, the “Swachhata Hi Seva” mass movement has been re-launched.

According to guidelines given by Mount Abu, the headquarters of the Brahma Kumaris, cleanliness service is being organized in every Brahma Kumaris center in the whole of India until Gandhi Jayanti. It is auspicious that the Chief  of the Brahma Kumaris, Dadi Janki ji, has been made the Brand Ambassador of this Sanitation Campaign.  The program was inaugurated in Udham Singh Bazar, Ludhiana, on September 15th in the main center of the Brahma Kumaris of Ludhiana under the guidance of Center in charge Didi Raj.

The service started by making two groups: one from the civil line center to the DMC, and the second group was established for the Temple. In this program, Ludhiana Mayor S. Balkar Singh Sidhu attended as the chief guest. Councillor Sunny Bhalla of the area was present as a guest. BK Sister Saras, BK Sister Meenakshi, BK Sister Sarita and BK Sister Mamta started the program. Mayor of Ludhiana S. Balkar Singh Sidhu appreciated the Brahma Kumaris sisters for such efforts which are contributing toward creating a clean city. Shri Sunny Bhalla said that the divine family is not only working on cleanliness of the city, but it is making efforts to clean the mind of people by removing the five vices to build Swarnim (Golden) India. BK Sister Saras inspired everyone to join the service fully. On this occasion, BK Pawan Batra, BK Ruchika and thousands of divine family members took the lead in cleaning the terrain. Other programs to be held from September 16th to October 2nd are in SBS Nagar, Sundernagar, Jodhwal Basti, Salematabari, Sector 32, Sunil Park, Jhande, Dagri and other places in Ludhiana city.

This campaign ends by cleaning the court premises area on October 2nd.
