Kathmandu, Nepal: The Annual Meeting of the Women’s Wing of the Rajayoga Education and Research Foundation and the Brahma Kumaris was called in Kathmandu. The meeting was presided by BK Chakradhari, Vice-Chairperson of the Women’s Wing; BK Savita, Headquarters Co-ordinator, Women’s Wing; and BK Raj, Zonal In-charge of the Brahma Kumaris in Nepal. During this meeting a seminar with the theme “Women: Torch Bearers of Value-Based Society” was organized.

Tham Maya Thapa, Women, Children and Social Welfare Minister of Nepal, also participated in the inaugural of the seminar. The Minister pointed out the problems of contemporary women in Nepal. Specially she showed her concern about the increased incidences of sexual assaults. She especially referred to Brahma Kumaris and spirituality that can help the society to get rid of these social evils.

Expressing her views on the topic, BK Dr. Savita from Shantivan said that Women make up almost half the population of the world, and so their role is very significant for this purpose. They should first inculcate values in themselves, and only then can they inspire children to give them good sanskars. This will have an indirect impact for creating a value-based society.

BK Chakradhari mentioned that women are naturally gifted with the values of love, care, kindness, sweetness, tolerance, renunciation for family, etc., so due to effect of circumstances they should not lose their virtues.

Some 2,000 women participated in the program. The members of the wing participating in the event were felicitated on this occasion.
