More than 350 people took part in the event “Being Love” with BK Sister Shivani in Hobart, Australia.

MC Mary Dwyer introduced the Brahma Kumaris in a very inspiring way, saying how much benefit she had received from the Brahma Kumaris organisation at a difficult time in her life.

Some of the themes BK Shivani shared were, “Take some time to look at the emotions (not the issues) playing out in the world just now…  Now look at the inner world.  Are there any of the same emotions?  Jealousy, fear, aggression, anger, irritation.  Do we know why the world is as it is? Every day, I pour a glass of water into the common pond I share with everyone and every day I take a glass of water to drink.  As long as we are all putting pure water in, we take pure water out, but what happens if one day, one person puts toxic water in? It takes only one person to begin the shift both to toxify the water and purify it. Terror behaviour in the world reflects the terror in the minds of most.  We all want a peaceful world. Are we ready to create a peaceful world?  Shift to BEING the peace and love in the world.  Not needing or wanting or even giving…  Just being.

When you love someone, how would you be with them…  Kind?  Supportive?  But how do we interact with our own selves?  Self-critical?  Not valuing?  We have a list of the names of people who have hurt us, but our own name is not on the list.

Shivani then verbalised the way we berate ourselves when someone does not respect us.  “We think they hurt us, but actually, who hurts me and continues to hurt me for years afterwards?  She gave the example of a bunch of flowers.  One person thinks they are beautiful, another thinks they are ugly.  But actually people’s opinions do not change the value of the flowers.”

The News Manager of WIN News, a Tasmanian TV channel, organised an interview at the Brahma Kumaris centre with Sister Shivani which was screened the same evening.
