‘Golden Society through a Golden Culture’ National Indian Cultural Conference

Raipur (Chhattisgarh): “Art and Culture are powerful tools for change in society” message echoes at the National Indian Cultural Conference, 2018
The Art and Culture Wing of the RERF, Brahma Kumaris, recently organised an Indian Cultural Conference in Shanti Sarovar, Raipur, in Chhattisgarh, on the topic ‘Golden Society through a Golden Culture’.
Speaking on the occasion, Additional Police Director Shri Arun Dev Gautam shared that art and culture are both very strong mediums to bring change in society today. Sharing that, “It is through a golden culture that we can achieve a golden society,” Shri Gautam underlined that they each can play a significant role in eliminating inequalities in the society.
He further said that the world has in fact originated from sound and that the whole world resides in the sound of the word ‘Om’. Further, he shared that art, culture and literature are interconnected and being able to express feelings, in a strong and tactful manner, is art. If an artist decides that he has to change the thought of the society, then it is easily possible, he said.
BK Neha, Mumbai Regional Co-ordinator of the Art and Culture Wing of the Brahma Kumaris, said that artists are of immense significance, especially during the present times, when their each word is followed. Artists, in fact, are the ones who can show direction to the society. She also advised and encouraged artists to adopt sweetness in their speech as the easy and effective means to receive blessings from all. The result of this will be peace, happiness and contentment, which will help bring change in society.
On the occasion, television and film personality Miss Anjali Arora shared that, after a traumatic incident in her family in the year 2013, when her search for peace began, a friend introduced her to the Brahma Kumaris. She said that she gained immense peace with the practice of Rajyoga Meditation taught at the Brahma Kumaris. She was extremely influenced with the peaceful, pure and captivating environment of Mount Abu. After that, she became associated with the organisation, participating on a regular basis. Miss Arora has been associated with films including Sultan, Baal Brahmachari (celibate from childhood) and serials such as Crime Patrol, Shaktimaan, etc.
Presiding over the program, Regional Director BK Kamla welcomed members of the Art and Culture Wing of the Brahma Kumaris into Chattisgarh and encouraged them to participate in the meeting regularly, each year. She added that the peaceful and pure environment of Shanti Sarovar will provide them with the necessary inspiration.
The occasion also saw memorable performances by BK Satish, Co-ordinator, Art and Culture Wing, Mount Abu; and BK Nitin and BK Yugratna, who mesmerized audiences with their melodious voices. The event was co-ordinated by BK Rachna and BK Rashmi from Delhi. Artists from Gujarat, Maharashtra, Mumbai, Delhi, Orissa, Punjab, Haryana, Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh participated in the same.
The occasion was part of the annual meeting being held by the Art and Culture Wing of the Brahma Kumaris in Raipur, Chhattisgarh.
