Kisan Sashaktikaran
Farmers’ Empowerment Campaign by Brahma Kumaris in Bhopal

The State Agriculture Department of Madhya Pradesh and the Agriculture and Rural Development Wing of the Brahma Kumaris jointly organised a program at the District Office when the Mobile Rally of the “Farmers’ Empowerment Campaign” arrived at Begumgunj.
Called “Kisan Sashaktikaran Abhiyan,” the campaign is touring all over the State, which is enlightening and encouraging farmers to adopt the system of farming with natural manures and with the power of Yoga.
Officers and employees of the Block Development Department, Sarpanch, Secretary and Village Social Workers took part in the program; they were trained and given the knowledge about the Organic Yogic Cultivation methods.
BK Reena, Brahma Kumaris Gulmohar Colony Center in charge in Bhopal, a Motivational Speaker, inspired all the farmers to learn Rajayoga and start cultivation by using Natural Organic Manures and the Power of Yoga to harness healthy, nutritional and profitable crops. She said, “By this method farmers are becoming morally strong and free from worries and addictions.”
Mr. Raghuveer Singh Rajput, Motivator from the National Rural Livelihood Mission, said, “This new technique of Yogic Farming is very beneficial and must be implemented by the farmers. It is like a Ray of Hope in their depressed lives.”
Mr. B.S. Jatav, Agriculture Development Officer, said that the farmers learned about Organic Yogic Farming methods from this campaign and are happy to quit their addictions to lead a better quality of life.
Lastly, BK Usha from Uttar Pradesh said that morality has degraded in every sphere of life. Farmers have mentally become very weak. In earlier days, farmers used to perform prayers (Puja) to Mother Earth and tell Her that they would like to sow seeds to reap good crops from her. But now, all those moral cultures have vanished with the introduction of Chemical Fertilizers which have spoiled, polluted, and deserted the soil. As a consequence, men, animals and all living creatures are suffering. So we must once again bring back our ancient traditions of Organic Cultivation to be happy, healthy and peaceful in life.
