“Divinity: the Basis for Ideal Leadership and Good Governance” Global Summit-Cum-Expo at Brahma Kumaris HQ

During the Global Summit-cum-Expo on Science, Spirituality and Environment being held from 29th September to 2nd October, 2018, at Shantivan Campus, Abu Road, Rajasthan, the Second Plenary Session took place on the theme, “Divinity: the Basis for Ideal Leadership and Good Governance“.
Honorable Smt. Rita Bahuguna Joshi, Cabinet Minister, Women Welfare, Family Welfare, Mother and Child Welfare, Tourism, Government of Uttar Pradesh, spoke about different key environmental issues in the country and how spirituality can help in improving the situation. “Sisters and two Dadis whom I met sparkled like dieties. This organisation is kept very clean using solar, wind power, and the inner power, and I am congratulating you for spreading peace in the world. Togetherness, Positivity, Brotherhood, and by not having negative thoughts, one can move forward only with positive thinking. India is fortunate to have people like you, and we are fortune that we are Indians. We have to save the environment, make the human thought process clean and useful to the society.”
Professor Ramakrishna Vijayacharya Hosur, Deputy Director, Tata Institute of Fundamental Research (TIFR), Mumbai, an Indian biophysical scientist known for his expertise in the areas of nuclear magnetic resonance and molecular biophysics, said that, “Science and spirituality are two sides of the same coin; if you perform your experiments systematically, without arrogance and love for all, it leads to peace. Have selfless sacrifice and work for others. The principles of science and spirituality are the same. Together you should develop and grow with the environment around you, and that is when you will have peace and harmony in this world.”
Rolonda Watts, Senior Journalist, Talk Show Host and Actor, USA, gave an inspirational talk on Divine Leadership. “An empowered individual can make the impossible, possible. I believe Divine leadership starts from within. Courage is the greatest of all virtues. Ek Bhagwan, Ek Parivar” (One God, One Family).
Sudhir Mungantiwar, Cabinet Minister of Finance, Planning and Forest Departments in the Government of Maharashtra, said that “Man is a social animal, a selfish animal, where he is only thinking about himself and his family instead of the society. When there is fear, he can never accomplish success in his life. The country can’t move forward with wrong thoughts and ideas. Spirituality will make this country captain of the world.”
Dr. Ashok Mehta, President, Medical Wing, Rajayoga Education and Research Foundation (RERF), and Medical Director, BSES M.G. Hospital, Mumbai, said “The Brahma Kumaris is a Big School in Positive Thinking. The journey here is that of the internal world. The task that’s being carried here is that of the Divine”.
Ms. Sushma Seth, Eminent Indian Film and Television Actress, New Delhi; Anita Devlok, Member of Parliament, Nepal; Rajyogi BK Amirchand Bhai Chairperson, Social Service Wing, RERF; Sister BK Janki, Director of Brahma Kumaris in Bali, Indonesia, also gave insights on the topic “The basis for ideal leadership and good governance”.
Dr. BK Banarsilal Shah, National Co-ordinator of the Medical Wing, RERF, thanked everyone and BK Shashi Behn, Senior Rajyoga Teacher from Mount Abu, well co-ordinated the whole session.
