Transforming Nuclear World through New and Clear Consciousness: Plenary Session at the Global Summit

On the first evening of the Global Summit cum Expo on Science, Spirituality and Environment being held at Shantivan campus, Abu Road, the first Plenary Session took place on the topic ‘Transforming Nuclear World through New and Clear Consciousness’ at Diamond Hall.

The program started with three minutes of Silent meditation. The guests were welcomed by the BK Sisters with bouquets and badges. BK Ansula and her group from Mumbai presented the Welcome Dance.

BK Mohal Singhal, Vice Chairperson, Scientists and Engineering Wing, Mount Abu, delivered the Welcome Speech.  BK Jenna, Director, Brahma Kumaris, Washington DC, USA, inspired the audience with her views on the connection of Science, Spirituality and Environment.

Pravin K. Mehta, DS, and Director General, Armament and Combat Engineering Systems (ACE), DRDO, Ministry of Defence, Govt. of India, was the Guest of Honour and BK Karuna, Multi-Media Chief, Brahma Kumaris, Mount Abu, was the Chairperson for the session.

The other keynote speakers were Mr. Ayappa Masagi, Founder, Water Literacy Foundation, Bengaluru; Sudhir Mungantiwar, Minister of Finance, Planning and Forests, Govt. of Maharashtra, Mumbai; and Virendra Kanwar, Minister of Rural Development, Panchayati Raj, Animal Husbandry and Fisheries, Govt. of Himachal Pradesh, Shimla.

BK Pushpa, Director, Brahma Kumaris, Zonal Headquarters, Delhi, gave an experience of guided meditation to the audience.

Another dance was presented by performers from Butwal, Nepal. For the National Painting Contest-cum-Workshop, prizes were distributed to the Top Artists.

Dr. B.K. Pandiamani, Director, Distance Education Programme, Shantivan, presented the Vote of thanks.

The Master of the Session was BK Urmila.

After this session a Cultural programme was presented where Jagdish of Bengaluru presented a Live Painting performance. The evening culminated with the mesmerizing dance performance by Gracy Singh and Group from Mumbai.

Three Parallel Sessions were also conducted during the summit on the first day.

The Parallel session 01, Role of Science in Creating Peace & Harmony, was conducted by BK Srinidhi. The following were the highlights of the session:

  • Keynote speech by Dr. BK Satish Gupta, Director, Medicine and Cardiology, Radha Mohan Mehrotra Global Hospital Trauma Centre, Abu Road
  • Guests of Honour were N.K. Chaudhary, Senior Scientist & Joint Director, DRDO, Govt. of India, Pune; and Prof. M.A. Haque, Environmental Author, New Delhi

The Parallel Session 02, ‘Spirituality in Sustaining Environmental Awareness & Ecological Balance‘, was conducted by BK Sudesh, Senior Rajayoga Teacher, Palam Vihar, Gurugram. The following were the highlights of the session:

  • Welcome speech by Dr. R.P. Gupta, HQ Coordinator, Value Education Programs, Gyan Sarovar
  • Keynote speech by BK Vijaya, Senior Rajyoga Teacher, Dungarpur
  • Guests of Honour were: Acharya Jagdishji Maharaj, Founder, Namo Gange Trust & Yogshala Institution, New Delhi; Ms. Nivedita Varshneya, Country Director, Deutsche Welthungerhilfe, New Delhi; and Ms. Swati Bondia, Founder & Director, CLAP, Bengaluru

The Parallel Session 03, ‘Women & Youth as Agents of Change‘, was conducted by BK Sheela, Senior Rajayoga Teacher, Hyderabad. The following were the highlights of the session:

  • Welcome speech by BK Lata, Advocate, Brahma Kumaris, Mount Abu
  • Keynote speech by Dr. BK Savita Behn, HQ Coordinator, Women’s Wing, Mount Abu
  • Guests of Honour were Ms. Sushma Seth, Eminent Indian Film and Television Actress, New Delhi; Ms. Supriti, Diversity & Inclusion Consultant, Member of National Executive, SPICMACAY, Bengaluru; and Swamini Adityananda Saraswati, Director, Global Interfaith WASH Alliance, New Delhi
  • The Vote of Thanks was presented by BK Avtar, HQ Coordinator, Social Service Wing, Mount Abu
