Festivals help to strengthen Unity.

“Festivals not only bring joy but also help in strengthening the unity among the Indians. Our country is well known for its unity in cultural diversity and we have to maintain this to make India a world leader,” said Banwarilal Purohit, Governor of Tamil Nadu, during the Christmas celebration programme organised by Archdiocese of Nagpur, SFS Cathedral, Kamptee Road on Monday.

Purohit said, “Culture of togetherness is the strength of our country and festivals are like a thread that connects us with others.”

He took the blessings of Archbishop Abraham Viruthakulangara during the event and wished everyone.
“I visit here every year to get the blessings of Archbishop on the occasion of Christmas, and this year I am here with wishes of the people of Tamil Nadu,” said Purohit during the speech.
Archbishop delivered a small chapter of Bible in his Christmas message. He said, “Christmas is about relationship, peace and unity. Let us celebrate it for well-being.”

In his message, Archbishop appealed people to help poor who really need support and work for the humanity.
In the beginning, Purohit felicitated Archbishop with a bouquet. A group of children presented a dance on birth of Jesus while brothers performed a carol song. Chief guest and other guests cut the cake and wished Merry Christmas.

Saoner MLA Sunil Kedar, MLA Sudhakar Deshmukh, former Minister Dr Nitin Raut, MLA Dr Milind Mane, MLC Prakash Gajbhiye, Rajendra Shreshtha Maharaj of Ramkrishna Math and Manisha Ben of Brahma Kumaris were the guests.

Father Jerome Pinto, Fr Lizo Thomas, Fr Thomas Joseph, Fr Isac, Fr Das, Fr Thomas, Kishor Jichkar, Nelson Francis, Manish Hirekand, Albert Francis, Thomas Gabrial, Jose Thomas and others were present during the event.
