Ambassador of India to the Russian Federation Visits BK Center

Moscow (Russia): His Excellency Mr. D.B. Venkatesh Varma, Ambassador of India to the Russian Federation, and Ms. Mahima Sikand, Director of  Jawaharlal Nehru Cultural Centre, Embassy of India, were the special guests of the Diwali program held at the new Brahma Kumaris Centre in Moscow “The Light House of the World”.

The program started with words of greetings from BKs Mayajeet and Zhanna welcoming the honored guests and the audience both in Hindi and in Russian. After that everyone enjoyed a short and sweet concert presented by BK students who performed a Russian song about Diwali and a beautiful dance with lights. The performance charged the hall with light and filled everyone’s hearts with joy and enthusiasm.

His Excellency Mr. D.B. Venkatesh Varma, Ambassador of India to the Russian Federation, congratulated everyone on Diwali emphasizing the importance of spiritual richness which would change the world. He sincerely thanked the Director of the BK Center, BK Sudha, for the invitation saying that he could fully experience the happiness of Diwali on that very special morning and felt as being at home. He said, “Diwali is the time for joy and celebrations, but also the time to remember what is the real richness in life. It is spiritual richness, that is the most important in this centre. Whatever you have inside will change the world. You are a very good example of spirituality in its best form.”

Mr. Varma also expressed his pure wish to come to other programs and celebrations. Then there was a candle lighting ceremony and the celebrations continued among the BK students. The hearts of all were filled with special feelings of joy and contentment, and faces were shining with beautiful smiles. There was a wonderful atmosphere of festivity, lightness and happiness.
