Brahma Kumaris Launch Year-Long Program “Global Enlightenment for Golden Age” at Chandigarh

Meditation sessions, Reflections on changing for the better from a galaxy of VIPs mark launch
“Change self, change the world”: this was the message that emerged out of a program on enlightenment held by the Brahma Kumaris, a social-cultural organisation, at the Tagore Theatre, Chandigarh, on Saturday.
The organisation launched the year-long program for offering its services with the theme of ‘Golden enlightenment for the Golden age’ with a galaxy of the city’s VIPs in attendance. Justice Daya Chaudhary was the Chief Guest with former Union Minister Pawan Kumar Bansal; Director General of School Education of Haryana Anurag Aggarwal, IAS; Director of Food Civil Supplies & Consumer Affairs of Punjab Government Anindita Mitra; and Deputy Regional Passport Officer Munish Kapoor also in attendance.
The program started with a “Meditation Session,” followed by an introduction and orientation session for the organization that Brahma Kumari Anita Didi presented.
BK Amir Chand, the North India Zonal In-Charge of the organisation, then addressed the gathering. He said, “Knowing your real soulful self can lead you to light the fire of enlightenment in the world.” He added that whatever one does has to have an element of the divine and the power that only a real connection with God can bring.
The keynote speaker at the event was the Director of Brahma Kumaris at Gurugram ‘Om Shanti Retreat Centre’, Rajyogini BK Asha Didi. “To know the self and the soul, it is important to have both knowledge and intention. Today, our soul is connected not to the divine, but more to the worldly desires and materials,” she said.
Referring to the holy Gita, she added that there are two ways to live in this world: the divine way or the monster way. The concept of good and bad is with the soul and not with the body.
“We can align ourselves with the divine only if we have an element of the divine in our routine and this can happen only with the practice of Rajayoga,” she added.
Elaborating on the concept of Rajayoga, she said, “It is a simple way of connecting the soul to the divine and is not simply training our body. Change yourself and you change the world.”
After the keynote address, the guests lit the lamp and pledged to promote the theme ‘Golden Enlightenment for Golden Age.’ During the program, there was a dance performance by Vedha, Kalash and Palak with the vocals provided by Jai Gopal Luthra.
Concluding, the Chief Guest of the program Justice Daya Chaudhary said, “I congratulate Brahma Kumaris for the service they are rendering. The society needs these services.”
Pawan Kumar Bansal said, “We need to win over the evils of anger and ego. This can happen when we are ready to embrace the divine.”
The program concluded with a meditation session conducted by BK Kavita.
