1. Grand reception on the occasion of 79th Independence Day of India, organised by the Indian Consulate in Guangzhou, China 
The Consulate General of India in Guangzhou hosted a grand reception at the hotel, Shangri-La to commemorate the 79th Independence Day of India.

Consul General Shri Shambhu Hakki welcomed and addressed the gathering. The Vice Chairman of CPPCC Guangzhou Committee, Mr. Gong Haijie, the Deputy Director General of Guangdong Foreign Affairs Office, Ms. Qian Hongjie, graced the occasion.

The event also saw participation of about 250 guests, including the Consul Generals and members of diplomatic corps , officials from the Guangdong, Hunan, Hainan, Sichuan, Fujian, Yunnan and Guangxi provinces, business representatives, Friends of India, scholars and members of the Indian diaspora.

BK Sister Sapna was also invited for the event as one of the distinguished guests and Brahma Kumaris were also invited to create a corner to demonstrate Indian spiritual wisdom named “Meditation & Ancient Spiritual Wisdom of India”. Throughout the event, we were pleased to see a steady stream of visitors at our booth. Many guests expressed a keen interest in learning more about the ancient wisdom of India.

It was indeed a great opportunity to share a spiritual message with so many dignitaries of South China. 
 
2. Another flag hoisting event at the Indian Consulate in Guangzhou . The BK sisters from the diamond culture group of Brahma Kumaris performed on the patriotic songs which was much appreciated by one and all. Group was also presented a certificate of appreciation by the Consul General. 
 
3. Raksha Bandhan 
During the event , Sister Sapna also tied Rakhi to the Consul officers , staff and Members of the Indian diaspora.
