Kerala Flood Disaster Relief Services by Brahma Kumaris

With unprecedented floods, 44 rivers in spate, flooding of houses and widespread damages, disruption of roads and bridges, badly hit agricultural sector, power failure, landslides in several places, closed roads, shut down of airports and railways at various locations, and the death toll rising day by day, rescue operations are being carried out in Kerala by the Army, Navy, and various government and non-governmental organisations.

Under such a crisis, a Disaster Management Team of the Brahma Kumaris organisation is co-ordinating with the Kerala Government and working with various Brahma Kumaris centers located in Cochin, Trivendrum, Coimbatore, Mysore, Chennai, and Mangalore, etc., in conducting relief camps and providing temporary shelter, food, water, monetary and medical aid to flood-region effected people.

The Headquarters of the Brahma Kumaris sent relief items for flood disaster victims, and truck loads of materials including clothing, food, water, medicine etc.
