“Role of Raja Yoga in Sports” Program for Sports Personnel by Brahma Kumaris, New Delhi
The Brahma Kumaris of the Karol Bagh Centre in New Delhi conducted a program in their Pandav Bhawan for Sportsmen, Coaches and Training Experts. The aim was to enlighten them about the Art of Raja Yoga and its influence in the Field of Sports and Games.
The function was commenced by a traditional Candle Lighting by Guests Mr. Neeraj Kumar Mehra, Research Officer in the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports; Mr. Raj Kumar, Wrestling Coach and recipient of the Major Dhyan Chand Award; BK Pushpa, Director of Pandav Bhawan; BK Vijaya and BK Dinesh.
Other Guests who participated in the Candle Lighting were Mr. Pavan Chillar, President of BJP Youth Wing and Sports Cell; Mr. Padam Singh Chouhan, President of Delhi Cricket Association for the Physically Challenged; Mr. Sohan Atal, Judo Coach, Sports Authority of India; Mr. Bhagwat Prasad Gupta, Coach for Casbo; Mrs. Sunita Khurana and many others.
Mr. Neeraj Kumar Mehra, while talking about Sports and Games in his inaugural address, stated that excellent performance in this field is possible only by the regular practice of Yoga.
Mr. Raj Kumar too expressed his opinion that Raja Yoga greatly helps the Wrestlers and the Players of any sports or games. BK Pushpa welcomed all the Guests and Participants in this program and said that to improve the skills and efficiency in Sports, Concentration, Self Confidence and Decisive Power are most essential. She suggested to learn Raja Yoga meditation and its use in Sports will bring merits.
BK Vijaya spoke about the Sports Wing of the Brahma Kumaris and its aim and objective. BK Rajeev gave the introduction of the Brahma Kumaris and its aim. BK Dinesh conducted the program as an anchor.
BK Pushpa, Director of Pandav Bhawan, emphasized enhancing concentration, confidence and decision-making in sports. She suggested to experiment with the use of Rajayoga in sports.
The function was opened with a very enchanting welcome Dance by Kumari Divyangi Pratyanshi. The event concluded with the felicitation of the speakers with Godly Gifts and everyone was served Godly Prasad (sweet) and refreshments.
