Seminar on “Farewell to Diabetes” at Surat

A two-day Diabetes awareness and remedial camp was inaugurated by Mr. Jagdish, Mayor of Varaccha Municipal Corporation; well renowned BK Dr. Srimanth Sahoo, Diabetelogist; Mr. Jeevraj Soorani, Diamond Merchant; Dr. Mukesh of Ankita Hospital; and BK Trupti, the local BK Centre in charge  The event was organised by the Brahma Kumaris at Sourashtra Bhavan in Meena Bazar, Surat, Varaccha.

The camp was kept open for the public from 8 am to 12.30 pm, and 3.30 pm to 6.30 pm, for two days. More than 600 people benefitted from this camp.

The Diabetes expert of world fame, BK Dr. Srimanth Sahoo, was specially invited from Global Hospital of the Brahma Kumaris Head Quarters at Mount Abu, to advise people how to bid “Farewell to Diabetes” and be healthy and happy in life. He said, “By regular practice of Raja Yoga, diabetes can be brought under control very effectively.” Through a Power Point presentation, he showed and explained to the audience about the causes and negative effects of the disease. He also described and suggested the methods to win over these causes and once again live a happy and healthy life.

Welcoming all the guests and participants, BK Trupti said, “Because of all the amenities available, our lives have became very comfortable and luxurious. So we shifted away from physical toiling, hard work, and began to lead a pompous and lazy life. As a result, our body became a brooding place for diseases like cancer, hypertension, heart attacks, cholesterol formation, and diabetes, etc.” Therefore, she suggested, “Let’s once again adapt our natural lifestyle and practice Raja Yoga daily. Our body is like a temple; we must keep it clean, pure and healthy.”

The function was very successful, lively and everyone enjoyed it fully because it was very educational.
