The International Youth Day was being celebrated all around the world on the 12th of August 2018 with the theme “Safe Spaces for Youth.” Keeping this in mind, the Youth Wing of the Rajayoga Education and Research Foundation and the Brahma Kumaris organised a non-fundraising walkathon, for the awareness of bringing dignity in Young Women with the theme “Walk for Young Women’s Dignity.”

Thousands of youth participated in the “Let us walk for the safety and dignity of Young Women” rally, conducted by the members of Brahma Kumaris Mahadev Nagar Centre, Ahmedabad, organised for the safety and dignity of Young Women and Mothers on International Youth Day.

For the launching ceremony of this rally Mr. Pradeep Parmar, MLA; Mr. Himansu Pandya, Chancellor of Gujarat University; Mr. Parthiv Patel, National Cricket Player; Mr. Pushpendra Kumar, Commandent of C.R.P.F.; Mr. Shiv Singh, NCC Commander; Braj O Force President, Dajan Khambate; Mr. Sunil Kumar; Mr. Yogendra Kumar Patel, Colonel NCC; Mrs. Aditi Parekh, former President of FCCI Young Follow, and Brijraj Singh attended.

In his inaugural statement Mr. Pradeep Parmar, MLA, praised the Brahma Kumaris for their activities. Cricketer Parthiv Patel said, “We all know very well the role and responsibilities of mother and sisters in the family. We have experienced their co-operation.” He said that “all young ladies can go ahead in life in their own fields provided they have the firm will.”

Dr. Himansu Pandya said, “Today the main three pillars that sustain the world, Joint Family System, Religious Authority, and Educational Institutions have become most unstable. It is therefore necessary to realign and make them strong. Brahma Kumaris are striving on the same lines which is laudable.” He said that if we talk about the dignity of women, it means they should get due respect and should be given due liberty in society to come forward with their talents to sustain the culture and heritage of our country. This is not easy to accomplish by imposing rules and regulations from outside. It is possible only when women themselves inculcate Divine Values and emerge with their latent Noble Character. This is what the Brahma Kumaris Ishwariya Vishwa Vidyalaya is teaching through Raja Yoga.

Finally BK Chandrika, encouraging the Youth said, “When we look at the present scenario, the need of the hour is to put an end to the Demonic traits in us and make them Divine. We are not mere males and females but Divine Souls. Keeping this always in memory we must perform all our daily activities in life.” Thus the purpose of this rally, “Let us walk for the Safety and Dignity of Young Women” will become successful. The rally for the public and for all the participants was felt to be very encouraging, enthusiastic and inspirational.
