Grand Inauguration of Media Conference-cum-Retreat in Gyan Sarovar, Mount Abu

Grand Inauguration of Media Conference-cum-Retreat took place in the hills of Mount Abu, at Gyan Sarovar complex on the topic “Resetting Media Agenda for Value Based Society” .
“Media should take up challenges to promote positive values”, Rajasthan Minister of Women and Child Welfare Anita Bhadel on Saturday exhorted media professionals to take up the challenges of promoting positive values in their respective organisation so as to check negativity in media coverage.
Speaking at the inaugural session of the Media Conference at the picturesque Gyan Sarovar complex in Mt Abu as Chief Guest, she said media responsibility needs to be encouraged in promoting religious harmony, national character, unity and integration besides protecting the interests of weaker sections of the society. “The media should do introspection, what Devarishi Narad ji, considered as first journalist, preached can be adopted as self-imposed code of conduct by the 21st century media. Literary personalities and journalists had made a valuable contribution in strengthening the fight for freedom of India, they can now play similar role in bringing social transformation, she added.
She was joined by more than a dozen media personalities in inaugurating the conference by lighting of traditional lamps. Earlier Brahma Kumaris felicitated the guests by presenting bouquets. The Madhurvani group led by BK Satish presented welcome song. Simoni from Chandigarh enthralled the gathering of media persons who had arrived
from different states and Nepal.
Brahma Kumaris Secretary General BK Nirwair in his video message said that media should work earnestly to give right direction to 65 crore Indian youth who need to be involved in creative work. The media can also help in diffusing the tensions that dominantly display presence in social environment, he said. He shared his inspirations on to bring positivity in media that can give new direction in creating a better society. Satvik nature, elevated feelings , inculcation of divine virtues can bring light in every home, and thereby diwali, a new golden aged world can be established on this earth.
Media Wing chairperson BK Karuna said that the wing had been organizing events to popularise the philosophy and practice of positive and value based journalism. He shared the aim of conference, how we all belong to one Family, as we say God is One and we all are His children. Main aim is to attain peace of mind, understand the self through the practice of Rajayoga. We(media persons) are God’s representatives and have to show right path to the world, he added.
Prof Kamal Dixit, National Convener, Society of Media Initiative for Values, said that media had risen to the occasion when the society called to reset the Media Agenda in Nirbhaya and Arushi cases. “We did a lot in motivating the people when central government launched SwachhBharat Abhiyan to bring awareness about hygiene/sanitation. But the media can’t turn its eyes over violation of constitutional rights, he observed.
Prof Sanjeev Bhanawat, HoD, Mass Communications, Rajasthan University, Anshuman Tiwari, Editor, India Today and other speakers sought to convey that focus should be to create, sustain, and become a reliable
and a viable medium, broad and value based platform to educate and guide the public on the experiential path of inner empowerment.
Media Wing vice chairperson BK Atam Prakash said many media persons had come forward to join hands to work together for the noble task of self, social and world transformation.

For Spiritual empowerment, spiritual knowledge and rajayoga is needed and gave meditation experience to expereince God’s love and power.” shared BK Hemlatha, Chief Zonal Co-ordinator of Brahma Kumaris, Indore Zone. She also gave meditation experience to all.
Program ended with vote of thanks by BK Shantanu, Head Quarters Co-ordinator, Media wing and melodious songs by famous singer, Om Vyas.
