To mark the 150th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi, Honorable Prime Minister of India, Shri Narendra Modi, launched the “Swachhata Hi Seva (Cleanliness is Service) Movement”, the World’s Largest Cleanliness Drive, which will continue until October 2nd. The mission also celebrates the fourth anniversary of the ‘Swachh Bharat (Clean India) Mission’, a great way to tribute Bapu Mahatma Gandhi.

On this occasion, the Prime Minister interacted with and inspired people in different selected places in India directly communicating with eminent personalities, one of them being Dadi Janki, the Brand Ambassador of the Swachh Bharat Mission and Chief of the Brahma Kumaris, in the Shantivan Campus of the Brahma Kumaris Head Quarters.

The program started with the Prime Minister greeting Dadi Janki saying Pranam, and giving his good wishes for her health. He thanked everyone for being associated with this Satyagrah (movement).  Prime Minister Modi said the “Brahma Kumaris Organisation has done the work of re-establishing India’s reputation in the world. With the co-operation of everyone, karma yogis, citizens of the country and youth, this task is being possible and will be successful. The aim of Brahma Kumaris to carry out the cleanliness campaign in 50,000 places in 15 days is commendable.”

He remembered his visit to the campus of the Brahma Kumaris for the 80th anniversary, where he invited the Brahma Kumaris to be part of Energy Conservation and Women Upliftment programs.

“I am happy that you made a 10-point program and the whole country started to work on these programs. You always worked towards solving the problems in the society, and stayed in the front in bringing awareness to the public about cleanliness. Not just the organisation, but Dadi Janki is also playing a lead role in moving this campaign forward. World transformation through self transformation, the method adopted by the Brahma Kumaris, is proving itself to be important in emerging the sanskars of cleanliness,” stated Narendra Modi.

Immediately after the interaction with the Prime Minister, a pledge was taken by all the members of the organisation, eminent and local people, and students from different schools in Abu Road to maintain cleanliness.

Brahma Kumars and Kumaris marched for cleanliness drives in four groups to localities and neighborhoods, near Shantivan campus, cleaning the surroundings and spreading the message of swachhata (cleanliness) to one and all.

The Swachh Bharat Abhiyan will be executed by the Head Quarters Committee headed by Dadi Janki, Joint Chief Dadi Ratan Mohini, Program Manager BK Munni, Secretary General BK Nirwair, Multi Media Chief BK Karuna, Executive Secretary BK Mruthyunjaya, and Lead of the Social Activity Group BK Bharat.

State-wise committees at Brahma Kumaris centers have already started to execute the cleanliness drives at various places in India.
