Clean Mind, Clean Environment – “Swachhata Hi Seva” by Brahma Kumaris, Raipur

As a participation in the “Swachhata Hi Seva” movement in Raipur, the Brahma Kumaris and Kumars took up the task of cleaning the roads and culverts on Vidhan Sabha Road and the surrounding areas of Shanti Sarovar. The culverts had been filled with soil and full of green grass that had grown on it, so drain water had been blocked.

BK Savita, BK Kiran, BK Bhoomika, BK Shanti and the teammates were actively involved in the service. They swept all the waste and discarded materials from the roads, and removed the soil and grass from the culverts. As the passage was cleared, drain water started flowing freely. Dust collected on the roads was also removed to avoid flying into the air by the speed of running vehicles.

The employees and labourers of the City Municipal Corporation gave their full cooperation in cleaning activities. Later all the collected waste was lifted away by the Municipality vehicles.

It is noteworthy that our Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modiji has recognized Rajyogini BK Janaki Dadiji as a Brand Ambassador of this National Project, “Swaccha Bharat Abhiyan,” because the Brahma Kumaris Organisation has always emphasized the “Inner Cleaning of Mind” along with “Cleaning the Environment”.
