“Drug De-Addiction Campaign” by Delhi Police and Brahma Kumaris in Dwarka

As part of the National Campaign, “My India, Addiction-Free India,” an Awareness Camp was held in a school auditorium in Dwarka. It was a joint venture by the Delhi Police and the Brahma Kumaris of Dwarka, in Delhi.

The Chief Guest was Mr. Anto Alphonse, the Dwarka District Police Commissioner.  Other Special Guests were Dr. Arora, Additional DHS Delhi; Dr. Mudgal, Onco Surgeon, along with BK Laxmi and BK Meera. They launched the program by lighting the lamps.

Mr. Anto Alphonse, DCP, said that in the next 10 days of the campaign, students from various schools and colleges will be enlightened about the grave consequences of drug addiction to save their future. It has been found that many people benefitted by receiving this awareness.

BK Dr. Sachin Parab from Mount Abu said that this campaign was started with two objectives: Safety and Remedy. He said that under “Safety” people are given an understanding of their potential sufferings in the future due to the habit of intoxication. Under “Remedy” — for those who have already become addicted — participants are taught Raja Yoga meditation and given counselling to remove and resolve their problems.

On this occasion Dr. Sanjiv and Dr. S.K. Arora, Additional Director of Health Services, were also present.
