“Role of Brahma Kumaris Important in National Security” : General Rawat

Abu Road, Rajasthan: A “Commemoration Ceremony for the soldiers who sacrificed their lives for the nation” was held in Diamond hall, Head Quarters of the Brahma Kumaris in Shantivan, Abu Road, Rajasthan. This grand occasion was graced by the Chief of the Army Staff of the Indian Army, General Bipin Rawat, and his wife, Smt. Madhulika Rawat, Head of the Army Wives Welfare Association. It saw spirited participation from more than 18,000 Brahma Kumars and Kumaris from all over India and the world. Everyone joined together to pay homage to the Indian Soldiers and celebrate this unique coming together of two armies, the national army and the spiritual army.

The event started with the song ‘Vishwa Rakshak ke watan mein rashtriya rakshak aye hain‘ (Protector of the nation has come to the land of the Protector of the world) by Madhurvani group led by BK Satish which was followed by a beautiful dance performance by Akanksha and Shreya on the song ‘Jaha daal daal par sone ki chidiya karti hai basera vo bharat desh hai mera‘ (Where golden birds perch on each and every branch, That’s my beloved India, that’s my beloved India!).

The official welcome on behalf of the Brahma Kumaris was given by BK Mruthyunjaya, Executive Secretary of the Brahma Kumaris. He reminded the army chief of the long association of his late father Lt. Gen. Lakshman Singh Rawat with the BK fraternity. He apprised the General of the peacekeeping efforts being done by the 20 special wings of the Rajayoga Education and Research Foundation in association with the Brahma Kumaris.

BK Brijmohan, Additional Secretary General of the Brahma Kumaris, in his address, said that the presence of Gen. Rawat acts as a morale booster for all Brahma Kumars and Kumaris. He pledged support on behalf of the BK organization for the Indian Army in both war and peace.

In his remarks Gen. Rawat began by acknowledging the contribution to peace done by the spiritual army of the Brahma Kumaris. He thanked the efforts being done by the security wing of the Brahma Kumaris in maintaining the mental and spiritual well being of soldiers. He further dwelled upon the not-so-promising world security scenario and pointed out the role that the Brahma Kumaris can play in combating national security challenges like Terrorism and Maoist violence. He said that patriotism is not a mean feat and service to mother and motherland is equal to heaven.

The concluding remarks were given by Rajyogini Dadi Ratanmohini, Joint Chief of the Brahma Kumaris. She thanked Gen. Rawat and said that if everyone remembers that we are all children of the same Supreme God and hence brothers and sisters, then peace would be a natural consequence. The event concluded with high morale and slogans of Bharat mata ki jai (Indian patriotism).

Indian Army Chief General Rawat also had a wonderful meeting with Dadi Janki, Chief of the Brahma Kumaris, and visited the Brahma Kumaris campuses — Pandav Bhawan and Gyan Sarovar in Mount Abu — where he was welcomed and honored by Senior Rajayogis.
